Christmas Open Studio - Dates Announced!!

FRIDAY 14 NOVEMBER - 10am - 2pm  &  6pm - 9pm

 

SATURDAY 15 NOVEMBER - 10am - 3pm

 

 

We are very excited about this years event, as each year the interest in our Open Studio grows and as a result this years event will be bigger with more on offer than previous years.

 

You will still have the opportunity to view the Studio and chat with our Tutors and learn about what is on offer in 2015 at The Little White Studio, but in addition this year we will run little workshops throughout the event where you can create and take away the art you make.... More details on this will be unveiled here in the coming weeks.

 

We also have a selection of local goods from Artists, Crafters & Shop Owners, in time for your Christmas Shopping, a few of our regular stall holders from previous years will be back again, but we are also welcoming some newcomers with exciting products for you to peruse.

 

Scrumptious Cakes and Refreshments will be on offer as usual during the day, and on the Friday Evening we have a local Chef cooking up some little delicacies that can be washed down with some festive mulled wine.  All proceeds from the Refreshments and our annual Raffle will got to the Horam Village Pre-School this year.

The Kids had a "Hoot" at our Summer Workshop.....

 

Our Summer Workshop this year had a cute wooden Owl in a vintage music sheet tree as the main feature.  The Children started out by creating the background on canvas using acrylic paints to create their sky and earthy surroundings for the tree.

They then added their tree and created foliage using prints of circular plastic lids covered in paint and then pen and ink for stalks.  The most exciting bit for the Children was adding the Owl to it's branch and then covering the tree in little leaves.

 

The Children had a fabulous time and all did really well with their creations, here they all are, very pleased with their finished masterpieces!  Well done!!

 

 

 

 

Even though they were all given the same tuition they each added their own artistic interpretation and personality to their individual piece, here are close ups of some of the finished works of art...

 

 

Kids Summer Holiday Art Workshops

 

Our first workshop session of the Summer Holidays is Thursday 7th August, 9.30am to 11.30pm. Suitable for ages 7yrs upwards, the children will work on canvas using mixed media art techniques to create our "Owl in the Tree" piece, as shown here. Cost £20 inc all materials and refreshments. Places are limited so booking early is advised, please email or facebook message to reserve your place.

A very Girly Arty Party!

Last Saturday it's was a Birthday Celebration for the lovely Hannah.  Her and six of her friends enjoyed creating free expressive canvasses with Fairy images and lots of sparkle, before heading into the kitchen for a very "pink" Birthday Tea Party.

It was very much a Girly Afternoon, with the girls choosing lots of vibrant colours for their background paintings and lashings of gems and glitter to finish off their works of art.

The Birthday Tea Party was a truly scrumptious affair and followed on with the girly theme.  Everyone had a wonderful time and the girls created some beautiful pieces of art.  Happy, Happy Birthday Hannah!

Arty "Hen" Party!!

A lovely time was had by all at our Arty "Hen" Party last Saturday. The ladies arrived late morning and the Bride had no idea what was in store for her!  On arrival they sipped a glass of Fizz and relaxed in the kitchen of the main house before moving into the Studio to begin their project.

As the Bride had a Vintage Theme wedding, we came up with a pretty Mixed Media Canvas that included working with vintage style papers, music sheet, teacup images and lots of old lace, buttons and metal embellishments, as well as a little bit of painting thrown in.

Half way through the workshop we stopped and returned to the main Kitchen for an Afternoon tea with individual finger sandwiches and pretty cakes.

Kids "Mother's Day Art" Workshop

Decorate a Wooden T-Cup with paint, paper, rhinestones and sparkle, then add a pretty tag with a personal message for Mum! A very pretty gift that any Mum would love to receive on Mothers Day.  

 

FRIDAY 28TH MARCH, 4PM TO 5PM

Kids After School Art & Craft Club

 

With the half term break over our Kids After School Club kicks off again on Thursday afternoon!  After a busy term last term, with the children creating some fabulous Art to include a Recycled Art Journal, Art Tags and a very ambitious Mixed Media Canvas, this term sees us start off with a blank wooden butterfly to decorate.  We will be encouraging the Children to use their imagination to decorate this butterfly in an array of colour, texture and of course sparkle, deviating as much as we can from the "normal" look of a butterfly, to really try and get their creative juices going!!
